The 100 Helmets of THE VADER PROJECT: Plasticgod

One hundred contemporary and urban artists were invited to give Darth Vader's helmet a makeover and the results were astounding. Quite an array of looks were produced, but the headwear of the Sith remains easily recognizable whether adorned by Plasticgod, Gary Baseman, Shag, Dalek, Amanda Visell, Bob Dob, Tim Biskup, Marc Ecko and a host of others. The show has been travelling for four years and will be at Freeman's Auction in Los Angeles in June before moving on to Philly for the auction on July 10. The Vader Project is curated and produced by Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks of DKE Toys.

Beautiful CRAZY HAIR by CuldeSac and Studio Marisol!

"Our intention is to review the hair subject as a social and cultural element. Why do barristers still use wigs? Why does a woman have her hair done for a special occasion? Let's give emotional value to this aspect as well. Let's wonder why a good hair do could make us feel happier, more beautiful or uglier, better or worse… Let's find the way to transfer this concept into a real object. Several exercises will guide us through this workshop, varying from simple to complex, from obvious to surprising, and from observation to experience." said CuldeSac from www.yatzer.com

Good Design for Developing Countries - Jose Collection

"Jose Collection is a family of storage furniture pieces produced out of materials and processes that achieve a more responsible environmental impact. With previous experiences in design research and academia, his approach to the collection analyzes the product's life cycle. The urban landscape produces plenty of material that goes overlooked and underused; Arruda was able to see the opportunity to such urban norm. By combining an archetype with available plastic containers, he was able to create a transitory object that speaks to different levels- cultural and environmental..." from www.yatzer.com

Jack is back. Originally created in 1994, this lighting/seating/stacking object is created through the air rotational-moulding process, a manufacturing technique more often linked to toys or traffic cones.
